2. Categories of Data We Process

a) Server log files

When you access the Service, our hosting infrastructure automatically collects and stores information transmitted by your browser, which may include your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. This data is processed to deliver the Service securely and reliably and to detect and prevent abuse.

b) Analytics (self-hosted Matomo)

We use Matomo, a self-hosted web-analytics tool running on our own infrastructure. Analytics data is not shared with any third party. We operate Matomo with IP-address anonymisation and configure it to minimise the data collected.

c) Locally stored preferences

To remember that you have confirmed you are an adult, we store a single flag in your browser’s local storage on your device. This information remains on your device, is not transmitted to us as personal data, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

d) Search queries

Search terms you enter are transmitted to the third-party content APIs in order to return results. We do not require an account and do not build user profiles from search activity.

• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests) — for the secure and stable operation of the Service, abuse prevention, and privacy-preserving analytics.

• Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation) — where we are legally required to process or retain data.

4. Third-Party Sources and Outbound Links

The Service aggregates results from independent third-party sites via their APIs. When you click a result, or when a thumbnail is loaded, requests may be made to those third parties, who process data under their own privacy policies and over which we have no control. We proxy or cache thumbnail images where technically necessary to display results. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any source site you visit.

5. Disclosure of Data

We do not sell personal data. We disclose data only to processors acting on our behalf (such as our hosting provider) under appropriate data-processing agreements, or where required by law or to protect our rights. Our infrastructure is hosted in Germany.

6. International Transfers

Personal data is processed within the European Union / European Economic Area. Where a third-party source site you choose to visit is located outside the EEA, any resulting transfer is carried out by that third party under its own policies.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
